过去的“山东第一观音”。

竖立于圣水池中央、着观音袍、右手还翘着莲花指的的孔子雕像。

中国共产党政府主张无神论，持续迫害宗教信仰自由，先前炸毁全球最高的“滴水观音”像，最近将“山东第一观音”圣泉观音整容成儒家孔子像，原本白色的观音像现在已经面目全非，变成一座黑漆漆的孔子像。

长期关注中国人权问题的《寒冬》杂志报导，事件发生在山东平度市开发区城东埠村的圣水池民俗文化园，2011年耗资200多万元人民币（约新台币917万元）雕刻这尊高21公尺的大理石圣泉观音像，此观音像被称为“山东第一观音”，村民及游客经常来此烧香祈福。

报导提到，2018年秋天，中国政府下令，不允许传播封建迷信，信佛、拜观音都是不被允许的，所以圣泉观音像必须被拆除，但村民不舍销毁观音像，所以有人发想出“奇招”，将观音像加以“整容”，保留观音身但换上孔子的头，“圣泉观音”4个字和观音底座的莲花都被打磨掉，观音左手上的玉净瓶改成了竹简，整个雕像的颜色也由原来的白色换成了古铜色，理由是孔子属于中国传统文化的圣人，纪念孔圣人就不是“迷信”。

许多村民看到荒唐的合体像愤恨不已，有人说，现在像回到毛泽东时代，不让人信神、信佛，只许人信共产党。
